Josh Hays has signed a national letter of intent to play basketball for the MSU-Northern Lights men's basketball team, announced Tim Walker, head coach.

"We had everything here he needed," Walker said.

Hays, originally from Wasilla, Alaska, played at Centralia Community College in Centralia, Wash., during the past two years.

Hays, a 6-foot-6, 240-pound forward, averaged 16.3 points and 7.3 rebounds per game. He also earned first team All-Conference honors in the North West Athletic Conference.

Last season, he was ranked third in the league in field goal percentage, averaging 64 percent.

Hays plans to study diesel technology.

"He wanted to stay in the Northwest and close to home," Walker said. "He fills some size in the middle."
