CHINOOK Osa J. (Olsen) Howe, 88, died Thursday, June 1, 2000 at a Havre care center of natural causes.
Her funeral will be 11 a.m. Wednesday in the United Methodist Church in Chinook with burial following in Kuper Memorial Cemetery.
Howe was born to Ole and Jennie (Hermanson) Olsen on Oct. 18, 1911 in Oslo, Norway. She moved to Chinook in 1918 and graduated from Chinook High School. She married Harold Howe in Chinook on Nov. 19, 1933.
They moved to Cut Bank in 1958 where she worked as a licensed practical nurse. He died in April 1981 and she returned to Chinook to live in the Grande Villa in 1985. She moved to a Havre care center in July 1998.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers and three sisters.
Howe is survived by three sons, Charles A. Howe of Mapleton, Ore., Harold L. Howe of Rock Springs, Wyo., and Robert W. Howe of Butte; a brother, Bill Olsen of Helena; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Memorials are suggested to the United Methodist Church in Chinook.
