The Havre Comets will try to kick off the home jamboree today with a bang.
Scobey will face the Comets in the first game of the Havre Tournament to be held at Legion Field, beginning at 6 p.m.
The Comets (3-9) have come up on the short end of the stick as of late. Errors and base running mistakes have severely hurt the Comets, said Manager Bob Evans.
Danny Wirtzberger leads the team with a .409 batting average. Eric Lipp is not far behind, hitting .400 for the season.
Others swinging a mean stick are Mike Kellam (.370), Kevin Jurenka ( .333), and Bob Bergren (.333).
