The Taco John's Youth Golf Tour kicked off its 2000 season at Beaver Creek Golf Course on Thursday, with two Havre natives claiming gold medals.
In the boys' 13-14-year-old division, Chazz Hurlburt fired an 87 and placed first at the meet.
In the boys' 15-17-year-old division, Jason Johnstone fired a 79, the lowest score on the day, and placed first.
Johnstone, a member of the Havre Blue Pony golf team, was an All-State selection this season, his sophomore year.
Michael Erickson of Havre placed second with a 95 in the boys' 11-12-year-old division.
Haley Donoven of Havre finished third in the girls' 11-14-year-old division.
In the girls' 15-17-year-old group, Jessica Sande fired a 94 and placed second, while Julie Wagner fired a 101 and placed third.
Sixty-nine participants filled the cool and windy course at the tournament.
The next tour stop will be at Chinook, on Thurs., June 15.
