Patrick, Master Sports, Coors Light/Oxford lead softball leagues

By Tiffany L. Rehbein

Now that it's well into the softball season in Havre, it's due time to give a little press to the swingers (swiggers and stumblers, too) who are spending their free time on the diamond.

I have decided to write a weekly softball report, filling you in on any tournaments in the area and giving you general softball chat.

I will also be giving a somewhat accurate report of standings and top 10 (or so) hitters in the women's, co-ed, and men's fast-pitch leagues.

Due to a number of various circumstances, I can guarantee the report will not be entirely accurate, therefore, managers are free to call me and give me any correct and accurate information.

Also, if anyone has information on upcoming tournaments or results from a tourney that you might have attended, please let me know.

To kick off the midway point of the season, here are some little sing-a-longs, ditties, down-right jammin' ballads that I would encourage you to learn and sing during your next softball game. They could do nothing short of liven up your dugout.

All you men's fast-pitch players, don't be afraid to stomp your feet and clap in unison.

And, co-ed, harmonize with your teammates! The men playing shortstop and second base could sing tenors and basses, while the first baseman and catcher could sing the soprano melody and alto parts. I can almost hear it now.

These songs were actually picked up from a Website, and are not of my own creation.

Home Run Hitter Is Up To Bat

Home run hitter is up to bat.

If I were you, I'd scoot your booty back,

Scoot your booty back,

Scoot your booty back.

(Sing at least 3 times)

Nacho, Nacho Pitch

(Sung to Macho Man, again, at least 3 times through)

Nacho, nacho pitch.

That was a nacho pitch.

I Had a Rubber Ducky

(Perfect for co-ed teams)

I had a rubber ducky. (men)

Yeah! Yeah! (women)

His name was Fred. (men)

Yeah! Yeah! (women)

He was rooting for the other team (men)

Yeah! Yeah! (women)

So, I shot him in the head. (men)

Yeah! Yeah! (women)

I had a rubber ducky. (men)

Yeah! Yeah! (women)

His name was Steve. (men)

Yeah! Yeah! (women)

He was rooting for our team. (men)

Yeah! Yeah! (women)

The number one team. (men)

Oh Yeah! (unison)
