There is a manager at the golf course west of Havre.
Shauna Albrecht took over as manager of the Beaver Creek Golf Course on June 12. She replaced Anne Bruskotter, who moved to Washington before Albrecht took the position.
Albrecht had been sales manager for the TownHouse Inns of Havre before taking the job at the golf course.
She said her duties as manager include ordering for both the pro shop at the course and for the restaurant, scheduling the employees, advertising and helping to organize tournaments at the course.
"Just making sure everything runs smooth," she said.
Albrecht said she is so new to the position she has not fully taken over some of her duties yet. She said, for example, she will be doing more and more with tournament planning as she becomes more experienced in the job.
She said in addition to the nine-hole golf course, the company also has banquet rooms; a bar; a restaurant, and The 19th Hole, with indoor putting greens, golf simulators and orders from the bar and restaurant available.
Albrecht said the restaurant, The Horizon Room, just re-opened in March after being completely remodeled. She said it had been closed for sometime before the remodel and re-opening.
Albrecht said she came to Havre five years ago to attend Montana State University-Northern, where she is majoring in business technology with minors in marketing and small business management. She said she will graduate in the spring of 2001.
"I came here to go to school and haven't left yet," she said. "I don't think I'll be leaving for a while."
Albrecht is also involved in the Havre Area Chamber of Commerce. She is co-chairs of both the chamber's tourism committee and the planning committee for the 20th Annual Havre Festival Days. She is also on the local chapter of the Russell Country program of the Travel Montana organization.
Albrecht's husband, Brian Albrecht, is employed as a salesman at Tilleman Motor Co. in Havre.
