DOROTHY BITZ

BIG SANDY Dorothy Bitz, 89, Big Sandy, died Friday, July 7, 2000 at a Big Sandy nursing home of natural causes.

Cremation has taken place.

Memorial services will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Rohrer Methodist Church in Big Sandy with Pastor Connie Cranston officiating. Interment of cremated remains will follow at the Big Sandy Cemetery.

Bitz was born Nov. 9, 1910 in Box Elder to Thomas and Grace (Beedy) Denley. She graduated from high school in Ely, Minn. in 1928.

She graduated from St. Barnabas School of Nursing in Minneapolis-St. Paul, Minn. in 1931.

itz was a nurse at Deaconess Hospital in Havre for many years, and later established the Box Elder Nursing Home. She retired in 1955.

She married H.H. (Hank) Bitz in 1955.

Bitz spent her life taking care of others and her greatest joy was her grandchildren. She was an active member of the Rohrer Methodist Church in Big Sandy, Big Sandy Senior Citizens and a lifetime member of Big Sandy Eastern Star.

he was preceded in death by a brother, Don Denley.

Survivors include two daughters, Diane Phelps of Bradenton, Fla. and Lynne Allen Lamb of Naches, Wash.; son, Burke D. Allen of Big Sandy; brother, Tom Denley of Box Elder; sisters, Helen Barnes of Big Sandy and Mary Pauline Denley of Havre; eight grandchildren, and eight great grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to the Rohrer Methodist Church, Big Sandy Senior Center, or donor's choice.

Services and arrangements are under the direction of Holland & Bonine Funeral Home.
