LILLIAN WHALEN
Lillian Katherine (Kay) Whalen, 72, Havre, died Friday, July 21, 2000 at a Great Falls hospital of natural causes.
A rosary service was Sunday at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Box Elder. Funeral Mass was 1 p.m. today at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, with burial to follow at the Highland Cemetery in Havre.
Whalen was born Sept. 24, 1927 in Babb to George and Rebecca (Whitford) Salois. On Jan. 15, 1979 at Couer d'Alene, Idaho, she married Mark Whalen. They couple lived in Havre since their marriage.
Whalen was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary VFW.
She enjoyed traveling, bowling, playing bingo, making star quilts, and being with her husband, children and family.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Les; four sisters, and two brothers.
Survivors include her husband, Mark Whalen of Havre; daughters, Leoda Oliver of Elko, Nev., Helen Wells and Patty Henry, both of Great Falls, Linda Henry of Havre, Rhonda McQuestion of LeRoy, Mich.; sons, Joseph (Bob) Champagne and Francis (Tiny) Champagne, both of Great Falls, Marvin (Steve) Henry of Missoula, Daniel (Danny) Henry of Stevensville; stepson, Terrence J. Whalen of Medford, Ore.; stepdaughters, Beth Whalen of Great Falls and Blythe Hawthorn of Chadron, Neb.; sisters, Elvena Henry of Great Falls, Leona Schwan of Hungry Horse, Terry Salois and Glenda (Bing) Salois, both of Browning; brothers, Lee Salois of Great Falls, Ronald Salois of Stevensville, and Joseph Salois of New York; 21 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
Memorials may be sent to the Holland & Bonine Funeral Home in Havre.
