Hi-Line traveling league starting this weekend

By Marlene Pizzini

"Sometimes a man's health can be judged by what he takes two at a time: pills, stairs, and bowling balls."

Ken Wagner was the big winner at Jackpot, leaving the pots at strike $41, pill $46, and YABA $22. This Saturday night at 8 p.m., it's NHL night! Show your support for your favorite hockey team, wear a cap, shirt, jersey, etc. (all hockey) and bowl for half price.

Sign-up sheets for a Friday Trio league may be found at the desk or call the lanes with your name. Gary will be holding a meeting Friday, Oct. 13, at 5 p.m. for interested bowlers.

Lana, Mike, and Candy: Thanks for being so prompt with your sanctions. This is the earliest I've ever been able to send them to state and national. Womens City, Keglers, Straightaway, Guys & Gals you can be very proud of your secretaries.

Kaillyn McKnight rolled two spares and a strike to score a 102, the high game for the PeeWees. Eric Brewer threw three spares and Kory Kolis two, each rolling 100 games. If you have a youngster interested in bumper bowling, contact Kim Austin at 265-8272 or Hi-Line Lanes at 265-5885.

I talked to Ken from Missouri River Lanes the other day and your Bud Light Traveling League schedule is: Oct. 7 (this Saturday) Branding Iron Lanes, Conrad; Nov. 4, Pep's, Big Sandy; Nov. 18, Hi-Line Lanes, Havre; Dec. 9, Missouri River Lanes, Fort Benton; Jan. 6, Glacier Lanes, Cut Bank; Feb. 3, A & K Lanes, Choteau; and Feb. 24, K Lanes, Rudyard. March 3rd will be the final, held at the lanes with the greatest participation. Sign-ups will begin at 10:00 a.m., bowling at 11:00 a.m. except for Hi-Line Lanes which will begin at 1 p.m. Please note, all competition will take place on Saturdays.

Anyone with ideas of names for the league should get ahold of Ken immediately. As of now, serious consideration is going to: Bud Light presents the Northern Lights Traveling League. I know no one asked me, but it sounds too "schoolsy"!

I was left a note which reads: Please remind bowlers they are to complete an ABC/WIBC card before they bowl in any league - even if paid through another league.

Yes, there is a Rule #101b, page 25, but before speaking for WIBC, check with me. These cards come to me. I do not require, need, or want four or five cards from one woman. After league sanctions are turned into me, it is only necessary to fill a card out if you have not bought one or your league secretary requires otherwise. Our association does not involve 1000s of women. I am quite sure between your league secretary and myself, we can keep you straight. This rule pertains mainly to the beginning of the season. Your paid card should be proof you belong to the association.
