After the MSU-Northern SkyLights won their contest 95-85, the Lights bested the Alumni team 138 to 96.
Leading the scoring for the SkyLights was Lana Quintyne with 18 points. Paula Owens and Anna Fabatz each put up 15 while Nichole Neill scored for nine. The SkyLights hit 83.3 percent of their free throws which accounted for 14 points.
Scoring for the alumni girls included Shelly Stremcha with 20 points, Ronna Wright and Kari Filius with 16 each, and Patty Franklin with 13.
The Lights also did well, outscoring the alumni 69-45 in the first half and 69-51 in the second. The Light were able to spread the ball around well with eight different players scoring in double digits.
osh Hays led the scoring with 23 points and Bruce Stacy followed scoring 21. Other scorers for the Lights included Chad Meyer with 18, David Sawyer and Mel Stubble field each with 15, and Derek Renee with 12.
"It was a good contest," coach Tim Walker said, "Our scoring balance was good with eight guys in double figures."
Walker also identified a place that the Lights defense will need some work. He would like to see more defensive intensity.
The Lights can be seen hosting the University of Calgary on Wednesday, Oct. 18, at 7 p.m. while the SkyLights first home game is on Saturday, Nov. 4, at 5 p.m.
