MAURICE BONE
Maurice H. Bone, 78, died Wednesday, Oct. 18, 2000 in a Havre hospital of natural causes.
Rosary services will be 7 p.m. Saturday at the Holland and Bonine Funeral Chapel. Funeral Mass will be 1 p.m. Sunday at the Holland and Bonine Funeral Chapel with Fr. Robert D. Grosch officiating. Cremation will take place after services. Burial of ashes will be at a later date at the Rocky Boy Cemetery.
Bone was born March 3, 1922 at Fort Francis, Canada to Henry and Verna (Payne) Bone. He attended school in Canada.
Bone was a former member of the Canadian Armed Forces. He became a United States citizen and served in the U.S. Army as an airplane mechanic. He was honorably discharged in 1945, a veteran of WWII.
Bone moved to Wolf Point and bought an auto salvage, mechanic business. He sold the business and moved to Havre and lived here ever since.
On Sept. 11, 1952, he married Irene M. Pepion. They lived in Havre and later divorced. Bone worked for Frank Papillo as a heavy equipment operator and mechanic.
Bone's hobbies included fishing, creating copper frames, wire sculptures and pictures. He enjoyed country and western music and an occasional drink with his friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two sons and a daughter.
Survivors include his former wife, Irene McCormick of Havre; daughters, Grace DuBois and Laurie Bone of Havre and Marcella Crichton of Loveland; sons, Lonnie Bone of Loveland, Colo., Lloyd Bone of Havre and Robert Bone of Shelby; seven grandchildren, and numerous great-grandchildren.
