GLORIAN CRANTZ

FORT BELKNAP Glorian F. Crantz, 63, whose Gros Ventre name was Circles The Nest and Assiniboine name was Sis, died Saturday, Oct. 21, 2000 along with her husband of injuries sustained in a two-vehicle head-on collision about 28 miles south of Fort Belknap.

Rosary wake and vigil services will be at her residence in Fort Belknap at 7 p.m. Tuesday. Mass will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Burial will follow in the Plumage Family Cemetery.

Crantz was born Dec. 2, 1936 at Fort Belknap to Joe and Frances (Horn) Plumage. She attended schools in Harlem and graduated from Harlem High School in 1955.

She moved to Los Angeles after graduation. She moved back to Montana and attended Northern Montana College for two years. She married Ernest "Ernie" Crantz on March 31, 1962 in Wolf Point.

After her marriage, Crantz went to work for the Bureau of Indian Affairs. She retired in 1996. She worked for Harlem Public Schools for the past three years in the Title 9 program and volunteered her time to the Harlem High School cheerleaders.

Crantz was an avid Harlem Wildcat fan. She enjoyed traveling every year with her husband to the National Finals Rodeo in Las Vegas. She also enjoyed golfing, bowling, raising her cattle and spending time with her grandchildren.

Crantz was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She donated her time to the church and was a member of the Renew 2000 program.

She is survived by her sons, Anthony Plumage, Frank Crantz and Rhett Crantz, all of Fort Belknap; grandson, Frank "FR," whom she and her husband raised; daughter, Patricia Messerly of Lodgepole; brothers, Joe "Chick" Plumage of Billings and Fort Belknap, Arnold Plumage and Waldo Plumage, both of Fort Belknap, and Walter Plumage of Aberdeen, S.D.; sisters, Jill Plumage of Fort Belknap and Cathy Swain of St. George, Utah; nine grandchildren.
