Send a message: make your wishes known on Nov. 7

Who to choose? The question is as old as time. Two weeks from today Montanans will step up to the ballot box to choose their representatives for the next 2 to 6 years.

We at the newspaper will begin endorsing candidates this Friday. This year's campaign seems like it started a lifetime ago. The candidates have chosen name-calling and mud slinging instead of focusing on the issues as a home stretch strategy.

We at the newspaper, like most Montanans, are plain sick of it all. Campaign reform had been a hot topic this election year, however, it seems Montana's candidates just don't get it.

Americans are being driven away from the polling booths in record numbers, especially young voters. Most are sick of negative campaigning, they don't trust politicians, they think their vote doesn't count, and are just too busy to vote.

When we pull the curtain behind us November 7th, we alone as voters have the ability to push campaign reform. The newspaper has the opportunity to voice our displeasure with "Our View" columns.

The election is winding down. Make sure to take the time to vote on Tuesday. November 7th.

Hold candidates accountable for negative campaigning. Choose the candidate that best represents your morals and desires for the position. Voting is a privilege; fought and died for, don't fail to take the opportunity to make your wishes known.
