Nine people were among those who admitted violations or pleaded guilty to crimes or were sentence for their offenses in 12th Judicial District Court in Havre since early October.
Gary Alan Bullard, 41, Havre, was sentenced to three years in Montana State Prison with credit for 13 days served. The judge suspended the sentence on condition that Bullard return to Vancouver, Wash. by Oct. 20 and abide by the standard conditions. The sentence is to run consecutively with all other sentences Bullard has from Washington and city courts. Bullard pleaded guilty July 31 to felony criminal endangerment related to his stealing and wrecking a motor vehicle.
Marcus Daniel Christensen, 34, Chinook, admitted two of seven violations of his conditions for release. The judge revoked his sentence and deemed him a danger to society. He then revoked all but the last 45 days of the sentence and said he would consider treatment for Christensen. A jury found Christensen guilty Aug. 9 of partner assault. He had received a partially suspended sentence with conditions of release.
Scobey G. Baker, 24, Havre, had his deferred imposition of sentence revoked in October. The judge then sentenced him to three years with the Department of Corrections in an appropriate facility and gave him credit for 105 days served. Baker original sentence was for the burglary of a Hill County home on Jan. 20. He admitted seven violations of his conditions of release on Sept. 14. The judge recommended that he be allowed to apply for placement in the Corrections Connection program in Butte.
Anthony K. Burchard, 41, Great Falls, pleaded guilty Oct. 11 to fourth offense driving under the influence of alcohol, a felony. Burchard was sentenced to the Department of Corrections for seven months with credit for 26 days served. He was give a recommendation to placement in a prerelease center. The sentence was ordered to run concurrent with a Cascade County matter.
Marcus Arthus Hanson, 25, Havre, was sentenced Oct. 11 to four years with the Department of Corrections, the entire sentence suspended with conditions. Hanson had pleaded guilty July 31 to criminal possession drugs stemming from an incident in Havre on March 10.
Sandra Jean Andrews, 46, Vaughn, was given a 2-year deferred imposition of sentence and ordered to pay $10,000 restitution. She also was ordered to complete up to 300 hours of community service. She pleaded guilty Sept. 7 to insurance fraud for turning in insurance company claims for 160 prescriptions valued at $20,906.24 that had already been paid by another source.
Travis Joseph Sutherland, 29, Great Falls, was sentenced Oct. 13 to three years in Montana State Prison, all suspended on condition that he abide by conditions recommended in his presentence investigation. He was ordered to pay his probation officer $150 and to pay supervisory fees. Sutherland pleaded guilty Aug. 2 to a family assault charge stemming from an incident in Havre on Aptil 2.
Carissa L. Johnson, 23, Havre, pleaded guilty Oct. 18 to theft by common scheme and was given a 2-year deferred imposition of sentence. She was ordered to pay $2,553.43 restitution and placed under the supervision of the Department of Corrections. She must obey its rules. The offense involved the recurring theft of items from a Havre store between Feb. 4 and July 4, 2000.
Joseph S. Corner, 29, Havre, pleaded guilty Oct. 19 to criminal endangerment and was ordered to under go a presentence investigation. Sentencing was set for 11 a.m. Nov. 27. The charge involved injury to another person with a knife on Aug. 7 in Havre. The penalty for the offense is up to 10 years in prison and not more than $50,000 fine plus a $20 prosecution fee and $5 surcharge.
