HELEN HANNING
Helen Dorothy Hanning, 86, died Sunday, Dec. 3, 2000 at a Havre care facility of natural causes.
Cremation has taken place. Memorial services will be 10 a.m. Thursday at First Lutheran Church in Havre with Pastor Dorthy Nielsen officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetary.
Hanning was born Dec. 27, 1914 to Knute and Marie (Johnstad) Hafdahl at Box Elder. She moved to Havre and graduated from Havre High School in 1932.
She married James H. Hanning on May 27, 1935 in Havre.
Hanning worked at the Havre Clinic for 28 years. She worked with Dr. MacKenzie, Sr. and retired with Dr. MacKenzie, Jr. in 1978.
She was an avid fisherman and enjoyed spending time with her family and their cabin in Beaver Creek Park. In her early years, she was an accomplished bowler. She bowled in several national tournaments with the Valley Dry Cleaners' Team.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Hanning on July 19, 1980; her parents, Knute and Marie Hafdahl; brothers, Raymond, Melvin and William; sister, Margurite (Betty) Williams.
Survivors include her sons, Thomas A. Hanning of Havre and Kenneth J. Hanning of Cupertino, Calif.; sister, Donna Stockdill of Havre; brother, Kenneth Hafdahl of Havre; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made to First Lutheran Church in Havre, Eagles' Manor or a person's choice.
Services and arrangements are under the direction of Holland and Bonine Funeral Home.
