HAROLD HEPPNER

LANDUSKY Harold Holger Heppner, Sr., 75, died Friday, Dec. 22, 2000 at his home in Landusky of natural causes.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday in the Landusky Community Hall with burial following in Landusky Cemetery. Wake services begin at 5 p.m. Wednesday in the Landusky Community Center.

Heppner was born Oct. 11, 1925 to Henry and Myrtle (Booth) Heppner in Jim Thornhill's house on Mill Gulch near Landusky. He attended school in Landusky.

Heppner helped his father and area ranchers and later worked in the shipyards in Seattle. He joined the Air Force Nov. 17, 1948 and served four years with an honorable discharge in 1952. He married Sylvia Turcotte in 1960.

Heppner enjoyed fishing, camping, hunting and being with his family and friends. He was a life long member of Malta's VFW Post #4067 and the American Legion Post in Roy.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Arleda Karjala; stepson, Alvin (Peanut) Kendall.

Survivors include his wife, Sylvia of Landusky; son, Harold (Herbie) Heppner of Landusky; daughters, Pattie LaRoque of Landusky, Peggy Heppner of Hays, Jennifer Schanck of Forsyth, Bobbi Heppner of Malta, Chrissy Heppner of Hays; stepchildren, Wanda (Jeannie) Thomas and Karen Jester, both of Helena, Charlotte (Punkie) Schugardt of Colstrip; adopted son, Dave Snell of Landusky; sour sisters, Vesta of Washington, Cathy and Martha, both of California, Marlie of Oregon; brothers, Jake Heppner of Oregon, Reece, Wayne, Fred, Paulie and Swede Heppner, all of Montana, Ollie and Steve Heppner, both of California, Macky Heppner of Alaska; 18 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.

Arrangements are by Edwards Funeral Home of Chinook.
