Judy Martz, Montana's current lieutenant governor and Republican candidate for governor, will be speaking to the North Central Montana Pachyderm Club Friday at noon at 15 West.
Martz is a fourth generation Montanan from Butte where she and her husband operate a garbage-hauling business.
Martz has pledged to work to make it easier to start new businesses in Montana and has spoke in favor of reduced regulation and taxation of business and support of farming, mining, timber, and ranching in the state.
She has also come out in favor of tax reform.
Martz has received criticism recently for her refusal to sign the state fair campaign practices pledge. Rob Natelson of Missoula, her only opponent in the GOP race, has called on her to sign the pledge.
The Pachyderm Club offers a no-host luncheon and all meetings are open to the public.
