BIG SANDY -- Roy Allen Robertson, 60, died Thursday, Jan. 6, 2000, at a Billings hospital following heart surgery.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Monday at the Big Sandy High School auditorium. A reception will follow at the Big Sandy Jerry Martin Memorial Hall.
Robertson was born Sept. 23, 1939, in Fort Benton, to Allen and Wilma Robertson. He attended Loma and Kenilworth schools and graduated from Big Sandy High School in 1958. He joined the Army Reserves when he was a sophomore in high school and served six years. He attended meat cutting school in Toledo, Ohio, then returned to Big Sandy where he was employed at a meat shop and service station and also drove school bus.
In September of 1964, he married Sharon Sluggett. The couple operated Roy's Meat Cutting for 13 years. They purchased a bulk fuel business that became Robertson Oil Co and ROC, Inc. Their family all worked in the business.
He enjoyed sharing many outdoor activities with family and friends. He also enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, boating, motorcycling, snowmobiling, riding his four-wheeler and having coffee with his friends.
Robertson was a director of the Fresno Walleyes Unlimited Chapter of Havre. He had been a continuous member of the Big Sandy Volunteer Fire Department since October of 1963.
Survivors include his wife, Sharon; sons, Tony of Helena and Troy of Big Sandy; daughters, Tami Graff of Anchorage, Ala., and Teri Beyer of Havre; his parents, of Loma; brothers, Don of Big Sandy, Dean of Loma and Merle of Great Falls; three grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Memorials are suggested to the Fresno Chapter of Walleyes Unlimited or the Big Sandy Fire Department.
