DORIS M. WHALEN: Obituary

Doris M. Whalen, 72, died Wednesday, Jan. 19, 2000, at her residence of natural causes.

Visitation will be held from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Holland & Bonine Funeral Home. Graveside services and burial will be held 11 a.m. Monday at Highland Cemetery with Sister Judith Maender, O.P. officiating.

Whalen was born April 20, 1927, in Havre, to Henry and Tena (Johnson) Hamblock. She attended Whitlock Country School north of Havre completing her eighth grade. Her family moved to Havre in 1947. She worked at Buttrey's Meat Locker Plant and later at the Dutch Shoppe Cafe.

On July 27, 1957, she married Daniel J. Whalen in Havre.

She enjoyed needle work, embroidery and visiting with friends and neighbors. She was a member of the St. Jude Catholic Church and the Royal Neighbors of America.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters and two brothers.

Survivors include her husband, Daniel Whalen of Havre; a son, Keith Whalen of Havre; brothers, Donald and Henry Hamblock of Havre; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorials are suggested to the American Parkinson's Disease Association, the Havre Senior Citizens Center or to the donor's choice.

Services and arrangements are under the direction of Holland & Bonine Funeral Home.
