The Chinook Sugarbeeters volleyball team defeated Nashua 15-3, 11-15, 15-13 in the consolation round at the Glasgow Invitational on Saturday.

En route to the third-place finish, Chinook defeated Class A Sidney 15-9, 15-9, but fell to district rival Wolf Point, 15-6, 14-16.

The Sugarbeeters also defeated Class A Glendive 15-11, 15-6 at the tournament.

In District 5C volleyball action, the J-I Rams finished second at the Rocky Boy Showcase on Saturday.

The Rams fell to Dutton 15-3, 15-13 in the championship round.

Angela Peek had six aces and four kills for J-I.

Allison Jochim and Julie Moog had three and one kill, respectively, for the Rams.

Michelle Adams had four digs, Kari Tempel tallied three, and Laine Lybeck had two for J-I.

The Box Elder Bears fell to the Sunburst Refiners 15-3, 15-9 in the consolation round.

En route to the championship, Dutton defeated Rocky Boy 15-6, 15-12.

Sunburst defeated Hays/Lodgepole 15-11, 15-2 and Rocky Boy split with the Refiners, 15-11, 6-15.

Big Sandy fell to Denton 15-10, 13-15, 15-7, 15-2 on Saturday.

Eryn Darlington and Tamara Davis had six kills apiece for Big Sandy.

Davis also had three aces and three blocks for Big Sandy.

Jessica Curl had two blocks and 10 assists for the Pioneers.

Big Sandy went on to defeat Hobson-Moore-Judith Gap 13-15, 15-7, 12-2.

Davis had eight kills in the match.
