MARGARET "MARGIE" SANVIK

RUDYARD -- Margaret "Margie" Lorraine Sanvik, 90, died Saturday, Jan. 29, 2000, at a Chester care center.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Rudyard. Burial will follow at the Rudyard Cemetery.

Sanvik was born Oct. 16, 1909, at Pilot Knob, Mo., to Michael and Anna (Howart) Obosky. She moved with her parents to Montana when she was young. The family farmed in the Hogeland community. She received her formal education at country schools near Hogeland.

On Nov. 26, 1927, at Harlem, she married Selmer Sanvik. He operated a garage at Hogeland until 1929, when the couple moved to Rudyard. He joined his father in business at the Sanvik Store in Rudyard and she worked as a homemaker. The couple resided in Rudyard the rest of their married life, retiring in 1973. They spent the next nine summers at their residence in the Big Fork and Lakeside community. He died in 1994. She remained in Rudyard until her health failed last month and she entered the Liberty County Nursing Home in Chester.

She was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church and W.E.L.C.A. In her earlier years she was involved in the Rudyard Garden Club, the Home Demonstration Club and the Birthday Club.

In later years she became active at the Rudyard Senior Citizen's Center where she enjoyed playing cards. She enjoyed flowers and plants, crocheting, knitting, reading, playing cards, watching television and spending time with her family.

She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, three brothers, Charles, Michael and Steve Obosky, and sisters, Mary and Emma Goodheart.

Survivors include a daughter, Betty Strissel of Rudyard; two grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorials will be given to Our Savior's Lutheran Church or the Rudyard Senior Citizen's Center.
