REVEREND MARK H. BAER: Obituary

Reverend Mark Harold Baer, 46, died Wednesday, Feb. 2, 2000, at a local hospital of an apparent heart attack.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Monday at the Church of the Nazarene with Reverend Larry Coen officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery with military graveside honors.

Baer was born Oct. 28, 1953, to Harold and Ann (Jung) Baer in Miles City. He graduated from Billings Senior High. While in high school, he worked as a retail clerk for Big Bear Surplus and Wagner's Ranchwear in Billings.

He enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps on June 28, 1971. He was stationed at Kansas City, Mo., Barstow, Calif., Fallbrook, Calif., Long Beach, Calif., Santa Maria, Calif. and Billings. He held positions of administrative clerk, administrative chief, career planner, recruiter and 1st Sgt. He retired from active duty on Feb. 28, 1993.

On Oct. 25, 1975, he married Enidelia (Annie) Garcia in Three Rivers, Texas.

Baer received a B.A. degree in social science from Chapman University in Orange, Calif. He received Ministry-Ordination Requirements for the Church of Nazarene, Directed Study, and was Ordained in June of 1996. He had been the Pastor for the First Church of Nazarene in Havre since January of 1993. He was chairman of the Salvation Army Board of Directors and also started a jail ministry for Hill County. He was an active member of the Ministerial Association.

Baer was preceded in death by a brother, Paul who died in infancy.

Survivors include his wife, Annie; sons, Billy and Matthew of Havre; his parents, Harold and Ann Baer of Billings; a sister, Peggy Kirkpatric of Waitsburg, Wash.; a brother, Mike Baer of Kalispell; two grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Memorials are suggested to the First Church of Nazarene in Havre.
