ALOYSIUS SHORTMAN: Obituary

FORT BELKNAP-Aloysius F. "Rusty" Shortman, 49, died Monday, March 6, 2000 at the Fort Belknap Hospital of a myocardial infarction.

Wake service will be 7p.m., Wednesday, March 8, at the Red Whip Center at in Fort Belknap. Wake/Rosary will be 7 p.m., Thursday, at the St. Paul's Mission in Hays.

Funeral Mass will be 11 a.m. Friday, March 10, at St. Paul's Mission with burial in the St. Paul's Mission Cemetery.

Shortman was born Oct. 19, 1950 at Fort Belknap. He was raised in Hays and educated at St. Paul's Mission Schools. He worked for Brown's Convenience Store in Harlem, Kwik Stop and Food Farm at Fort Belknap Agency, and mowed lawns. He enjoyed fishing, Pow Wow's, visiting, community activities, and camping. His was an active member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Fort Belknap. He was well know for his hitch-hiking all around the Hi-Line area.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Allen Lee "Corky" Shortman and mother, Lillian Shortman, April 20, 1988

Survivors include his numerous cousins and friends.
