Grab your gloves and shovel, the Hometown Trees Planting Program starts in mid April.
Again this year, the Task Force for Urban Reforestation (TURF) committee and Gary and Leo's Fresh Foods begin their 10th annual community tree planting program.
They will be working in conjunction with Gary and Leo's Fresh Foods in a tree program called the Home Town Tree Program. The TURF Committee wants the public to become more aware of tree planting activities in the community.
"Last year, 560 planted seedlings were planted by school children and Gary and Leo's gave away another 1,250 seedlings to the community. We think the best way to reach out to the community with the tree planting program is through the school children, although Gary and Leo's will give seedlings to anyone who wants them," Dave Wilson of the Havre Parks and Recreation Department said.
The TURF Committee works to get education on trees to the community as well as planting, removal, pruning and trimming advice.
"Anyone wishing to help with the planting is more than welcome to. You can contact Randy Graves or Dave Wilson," Home Town Tree Coordinator Randy Graves said.

Sunny Side School, April 10 at 12:30 p.m.
Lincoln McKinley & St Judes at Pepin Park, April 11 at 12:35 p.m.
Highland Park, April 12 at 12:30 p.m.
Christian School, April 13 at 12:15 p.m.
Davey School, April 13 at 1:15 p.m.
Deviling School, April 14 at 12:30.
