Blue Pony boys, girls sweep Great Falls

By Tiffany L. Rehbein

Havre's Brent Finneman and Great Falls' Tyler Anderson tangled at the finish line of the 1,600-meter relay and both hit the track with a tumble.

Finneman was immediately on his feet, while officials administered to Anderson, who was on his back near the finish line.

Finneman's effort not only gave the Havre relay the win with a time of 3:41.4, it also vaulted the Blue Ponies past the Bison for a 73-72 team win at the duals Thursday at the Havre Middle School.

The Havre girls, who swept the high jump event from Great Falls, and placed two-of-three in the 1,600, javelin, shot put, and discus, also defeated the Bison 73-72 to capture the title.

Finneman, a junior, placed first in the 100-meter dash with a time of 11.2. She also won the 200 with a time of 23.1. He also placed third in the long jump at 157.
