The public is invited to join in the "Walk of the Cross" through Havre on Good Friday. The route will take walkers from the First Church of the Nazarene at the south end of Fifth Avenue to St. Mark's Episcopal Church.
Sponsored by the Havre Ministerial Association, the walk begins at 11:15 a.m. April 21 at the Nazarene Church, 310 S. Dell. Walkers will walk north on Fifth Avenue and end their ceremonial trek at St. Mark's Episcopal Church, 539 Third Ave.
"I think the service will follow the walk for the community," Ministerial Association President Steve Flatau, pastor of Havre Assembly of God Church said. "A number ministers will be participating in that."
Flatau said an offering will be received to help with the Mark Baer family. Baer, who passed away this winter, was pastor at First Nazarene and was instrumental over the years in making the walk a success.
"It's open to anyone who would like to join and participate," Flatau said. "You can come casually dressed. We will be walking, so you can come with your walking shoes on."
Flatau added that some of the walkers may be carrying crosses. "That will be up to the individuals from the churches," he said.
