BIG SANDY Michelle Fell, 16, of Big Sandy, and Kyle Boschee, 15, of Havre, died Wednesday shortly after 7 p.m. as the result of a one-vehicle accident just south of Big Sandy on secondary Highway 236.
The Chouteau County officials said they are withholding the name of the 16-year-old girl who was riding in the car and survived because she is a juvenile.
According of Highway Patrol Officer Scott Ayers, the vehicle was traveling north toward Big Sandy when it swerved slightly to the right. The driver then over-corrected to the left, sending the vehicle sideways down the center of the roadway.
The vehicle then flipped once, throwing Boschee, who was riding in the back seat, from the car. The car continued to roll two and half more times and Fell was thrown from the car. The car came to rest with O'Neal still inside.
Fell was killed instantly, Ayers said, and Boschee died a short time after being taken to the hospital. O'Neal's injuries were reportedly minor.
Ayers said alcohol was not a factor in the accident, but speeding and careless driving may have been factors.
Ayers also noted that none of the victims was wearing seat-belts.
No charges are expected to be filed by the Highway Patrol, Ayers said.
