Taste of Jazz a special treat

By HDN Staff

Tonight the Havre High School Gymnasium will be swinging to the sounds of jazz. The HHS Jazz Band will team up with the Hi-Liters and Belles Voix. Students, instructors and parents have worked all year to insure tonight's performance will be first class entertainment.

Ron Coons and Frank Payn's students have been practicing diligently to provide a showcase for their exceptional talents. The show will combine jazz with some big band music that has renewed popularity on today's music scene.

Behind the scenes the Music Parents Association has added their support to the tonight's performance. In addition to Taste of Jazz, the music parents association work all year long supporting their children's commitment to music. Last month they aided the music programs at the District Seven Music Festival. Tonight's ticket sales and silent auction monies will help pay for scholarships to summer music/theatre camps.

The parents association also provided funds to purchase display cases to show case music and theatre achievement awards. Similar to the athletic cases, they will provide a showcase to properly recognize the achievements of HHS talented music/theatre students.

Our hats are off to all involved with Taste of Jazz. The community can show its support of the music program at Havre High School by attending tonight' sTaste of Jazz. In return they will be treated to a traditional outstanding show.
