Students at St. Jude-Havre Central School were presented awards from the Catholic Daughters of the Americas St. Theresa Court #1161 Wednesday morning during an all-school Mass.
The winners of the awards were:
Poetry I, grades 4-6, McKayla Patterson, first place; Talia Malone, second; and Jason Verploegen, third.
Poetry II, grades 7-9, Brittany Job, first; Rebecca Hilliard, second; and Scott Robinson, third.
Essay II, grades 7-9, Garrick Leith, first; Sunshine Morsette, second; and Katybeth Courtnage, third.
Art I, grades 4-6, Anthony John McLain, first; Jason Verploegen, second; and McKayla Patterson, third.
Art II, grades 7-9, Carissa Minnick, first; Katybeth Courtnage, second; and Jared Weigel, third.
Zach Kamla and Jason Verploegen tied for third in Poster I, grades 4-6.
Eva Barsanti, education chair for the Havre court of the Catholic Daughters, announced the winners and Toby Helmbrecht, regent for the local court, presented the awards.
The Catholic Daughters present the awards annually on a local, state and national level.
