WILMA ROBERTSON: Obituary

FORT BENTON Wilma Fowler Robertson, 81, homemaker, died Tuesday, April 18, 2000 of natural causes at a Fort Benton medical center.

Funeral services were held Friday, April 21, at the First Christian Church in Fort Benton with Pastor Pat Dewey officiating. Burial followed at River Side Cemetery in Fort Benton.

Robertson was born Sept. 13, 1918 to Ben and Lela Fowler in Fort Benton and was raised on the family farm near Loma.

She married Allen E. Robertson on Aug. 20, 1938 in Great Falls.

The couple resided in Fort Benton and Loma and in 1942 started farming in the Colony Bay and Kennilworth area until 1960. They then moved to a ranch on the Marias River and in November 1972 they moved the Big Sandy area where they ranched until her illness.

Robertson enjoyed spending time with family gatherings and playing cards and games, and was a great cook.

She spent a lot of time crocheting, especially on afghans for her children and grandchildren. She also enjoyed doing ceramics, gardening, flowers, and was an avid bingo player.

Robertson was preceded in death by her parents; sons, Roy and Robert Robertson, and three brothers.

Survivors include her husband of Loma; three sons, Don of Big Sandy, Dean of Loma and Merle of Great Falls; 15 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be given to the Fort Benton Senior Citizen Center, Loma Memorial Hall or a charity of one's choice.

She was active in 4-H with her boys and was a member of the Kennilworth Hobby Club.
