Sixth Avenue Christian Church's Family Reunion 2000 runs today through Sunday at the church's new property on the south end of Fifth Avenue.
The summer festival for the extended church family will feature a tour of the new church building, family sing-along, softball games, variety show, and a whole lot more.
The weekend festivities begin with registration and Taco Cart at the site just north of the old Lutheran Home of the Good Shepherd from 5 to 7 p.m. today. From 7 to 8, there will be a family sing-along with Traber Cass. The half hour from 8 to 8:30 p.m. is reserved for visiting and signing up for Saturday's events.
From 8:30 until bedtime, there will be a slide show presented by the Christian Church Youth Group Reunion (CCYGR).
Saturday's events begin with breakfast and devotion at Sixth Avenue Christian Church from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. Softball games at the south complex get under way at 9 and run until noon.
An "Old-Fashioned County Fair" will be held at the new property site on Fifth Avenue from noon to 6 p.m. Food booths will be open from noon to 1 p.m.
The fair's opening ceremony is set to run from 1 to 1:30 p.m., with the carnival opening at 1:30. The afternoon's events include the 3-legged race set for 2 p.m., watermelon seed spitting contest at 3 p.m., cow chip throwing contest at 4 p.m., greased pig chase at 5 p.m. The carnival will close at 6 p.m.
Clean up and regrouping are scheduled for the hour from 6 to 7 p.m.
The variety show will run from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday at the new property, and will conclude the day's events.
Sunday opens with the CCYGR breakfast and devotion at Sixth Avenue Christian Church from 7 t0 9 a.m. Morning worship will be held at the new location on Fifth Avenue from 10 to 11:30 a.m. A potluck dinner will follow.
The official end of the reunion is set for 2 p.m.
CCYGR will reconvene in the Bear Paw Mountains at 3 p.m.
