Notice: Hometown Video and Hi-Liners. With only four teams competing in women's slow-pitch softball and five teams in men's fast-pitch this summer, the 26 runs you gals and 20 runs you guys have scored this season is that many more runs than those of us have scored who are not on a team. Two thumbs up to you for forming a team and keeping women's and men's fast-pitch leagues alive!
Master Sports knocked off two teams and remained unscathed in men's fast-pitch softball through June 26. They improved to 10-0 after dropping Palace Bar/Havre Ford, 9-1, and Stitches, 9-6.
Master Sports boasts six players in the top 10 batting averages in the league, including the top three. Ryan Divish is No. 1, batting .750, Dave Doe (your manager has yet to turn in your roster so you have no last name), is batting .667, and Scott Leeds is batting .659.
Rob Doe (your manager has yet to turn in your roster so you have no last name, either) of Master Sports (.550), Andy Anderson of Master Sports (.543), and Nate Dorcheus of Hi-Liners (.529) made their first appearance in the top 10 this week.
Master Sports is the best hitting team in the league, batting .550 on the season.
Palace Bar/Havre Ford split during the week and remained in second place with a 5-5 mark.
Stitches dropped a game, but maintained its third-place standing with a 4-4 record. Although they do not have an individual in the top 10 batting averages, they are the second-best hitting team in the league, batting .452. Taco John's (4-6) split during last week's action, and Hi-Liners dipped to 0-9.
After dropping a game to 15 West/Bud Light two weeks ago, Coors Light/Oxford Bar remained in second place in the women's slow-pitch league with a record of 4-2.
15 West/Bud Light knocked off Hometown Video 28-9 and is No. 1 in the league with a 4-1 mark. Hometown Video is 0-5 overall.
Lacy Whitright of NMH, after teetering on the edge of the top 10 batting averages during the past few weeks, went 5-for-5 in the 20-15 loss to Coors Light/Oxford Bar. She sits third in the overall standings with a .778 average.
Cari Bachini of Coors Light/Oxford Bar is also new to the top 10, batting .750.
Kaylie Steussie of 15 West/Bud Light returned to the top 10 and is No. 1, batting .800 for her league-leading team.
NMH, although even in the league with a 3-3 mark, has the most players in the top 10 batting averages Whitright, Shari Brenna (.727), Michelle Borstad (.682), and Jackie Stallcup (.680). NMH is also the best hitting team in the league, batting .575.
Stallcup is the only female in the top 10 batting averages in the co-ed league. Stallcup is ranked fourth, batting .826 for Boxcars.
Shawn Mariani of Gusto leads the league in batting with an .895. He pushed Dave Peterson of Patrick Construction/Tire Rama into second place, batting .857.
Tim Messineo of Randolph Construction maintained his stance in the top 10. Messineo is third, batting .828.
Northwinds' Dale Young and NMH's Nic Bolken made their first appearance in the top 10 this week. During two games, Young went 7-for-9, while Bolken went 2-for-3 in one game.
Patrick Construction/Tire Rama edged McNair Furniture/15 West 9-6 and they lead the league with an 8-1 mark on the season.
Boxcars had a bye during last week's action and maintained its second-place standing with a record of 6-1. Boxcars is the best hitting team in the league with a .631 average. They are the only team to beat Patrick Construction/Tire Rama.
Randolph Construction defeated McNair Furniture/15 West and improved to 7-3. Randolph is the second-best hitting team in the league (.594). Gusto, though suffering some games due to forfeit, has only one loss while in action. They are 4-1 overall.
McNair dipped to 4-5, while Northwinds split games and improved to fifth place with a record of 5-4. Culligan is 3-5, while Rocky Boy and NMH are dwelling at the bottom of the league.
