Dr. Alex Capdeville will visit the Montana State University-Northern campus Wednesday, Aug. 30, to interview for the interim chancellor position at the university.
"We're trying to figure out whether this is a good fit between Alex and the campus," said Rolf Groseth, executive assistant to the president of Montana State University.
Groseth said he thinks Dr. Terry Roark, interim president of MSU, and Dr. Richard Crofts, commissioner of higher education, think it is a good fit between Capdeville and the campus. Groseth said they will just have to wait and see how the community members responds.
Roark and Groseth will accompany Capdeville, currently CEO of the Helena College of Technology of the University of Montana, on the Wednesday visit.
Capdeville is scheduled to spend the day visiting with faculty members, administrators, students and community members. Campus and community members are encouraged to meet and ask him questions. There is an open meeting for the community at 2 to 3 p.m. in Donaldson Commons.
Capdeville has been CEO of the Helena COT since 1978. The institution has realized a growth in enrollment of 53 percent in that time. He has also served for several years on the Northwest Association of Schools and Colleges.
Capdeville is an alumnus of MSU-Northern, having earned his bachelor's and master's degrees from the institution. He holds a doctorate from Colorado State University.
