Ginger Zanto, director of transportation for Havre Public Schools, said Friday that none of the buses used by the schools are on any recall list.
Several models of buses have been recalled recently due to steering and braking defects, but Zanto said Havre does not use any of these models.
Zanto said that Havre uses some buses manufactured by Bluebird, Thompson and Am Tran, all of which have recalled models.
Zanto said whenever a recall is made, they immediately make sure none of the buses in Havre are affected. She said the manufacturers are also very good about immediately notifying the schools using them.
She said, for example, she immediately called Bluebird upon hearing of the defective model, and was told that only five buses in the state are affected by the recall.
