The JV team also did well at the meet placing second with 30 points. Lewistown took first with 30 points because their tie-breaking sixth place runner finished ahead of Havre's sixth place runner.

Individual JV times included Stacey Siebrasse in first with a time of 22:37, Shannon Newth in third with 22:49, Amanda Laeupple in sixth with 23:40, Maureen Porter in seventh with 24:06, Carly Toldess in thirteenth with 24:54, and Stacey Neighor in 15th with 24:59. Lindsey Brandt, Alicia Crawford, Jen Gorder, Audrey Sprinkle, Lindsey Schumacher and Katie Jarvis also competed in the meet for the JV runners.

Kim Ray, coach of the HHS runners, said that she was happy with her runners perfomances.

Everybody had personal bests," Ray said of the team.

She added that the varsity girls worked hard to stay together and if they run like they did Saturday they have a good chance at State.

The cross country team will hit the ground running again Saturday, Oct. 14, at Divisionals.

The divisional meet will be held at Beaverhead Golf Course in Dillon.

The JV will run at 12 and the varsity teams will run at 1:15.
