Ponies beat Livingston

The Havre High football squad controlled the Park County Rangers in 35-14 win on Friday night. The Ponies held the Rangers to just 89 yards rushing and 40 yards passing the entire game, while the Pony offense rolled out 293 rushing yards.

Havre went up 14-0 in the first on a 12 yard run by Dan Wirtzberger and a 5 yard run by Kevin Harada. Lewistown would strike back in the second to make the half time score close at 14-7.

Wirtzberger broke loose with a 47 yard run in the third to put the Ponies up by 14. Blue Pony Steve Heberly scored in the fourth on a punt return making the score 28-7.

The Rangers connected on a 32 yard touchdown pass, but Dan Wirtzberger sealed the win with a 29 yard TD rush.

The Pony defense was alive and well in this game as well. Matt Sasaki registered 2 sacks on the day for the Ponies, and David Knight blocked a punt. Jacob Szudera had 13 tackles, three of which were unassisted.

The Ponies travel to Browning this Friday for their last scheduled game. Kickoff for this game will be at 7:30.
