FORT BELKNAP Belva Ann Johnson, 60, died Thursday, Oct. 19, 2000 at her home at Fort Belknap from liver disease.
Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at the Horn Family Cemetery.
Johnson was born Aug. 22, 1940, to Amos and Melvina (Horn) First Raised Sr. She was raised and educated at Fort Belknap.
She married Edgar Johnson on Dec. 19, 1965 at Chinook.
She work as a counselor for the C.D.C. (Chemical Dependency Center) at Fort Belknap for a few years.
Johnson was a homemaker and always had a house full of kids, grandkids and friends. She enjoyed brandings, and would help when every she could. Besides going to pow-wows, sewing and doing bead work, her joy was her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three daughters, mother, two brothers and one sister.
Survivors include her husband, Edgar Johnson of Fort Belknap; father, Amos First Raised Sr. of Malta; daughters, Thea Johnson, Vikki Johnson and Mary K. Nicholson, all of Fort Belknap, Roberta L. Johnson of New Town, Cynthia Moccasin of Frazer and Vivian Bryant of Tennessee; sons, Elgin Johnson, Doug Johnson, Ival Jackson, and Stanley Johnson, all of Ft. Belknap, Ronald Moccasin Jr. of Frazer, Edgar Johnson Jr. of Box Elder, Benjamin Johnson of Brockton; sisters, Julia Doney of Fort Belknap, Loretta Retan of Chinook, Arleda Hopkins of Great Falls; brothers, Amos First Raised Jr. and Frank First Raised, both of Ft. Belknap; 42 grandchildren, and 21 great grandchildren.
Adams Funeral Home of Malta is in charge of arrangements.
