Rocky Boy Assembly of God Church is hosting an interdenominational substance abuse, life controlling, problems seminar Jan. 19 and 20.
The two-day eight-hour seminar is sponsored by Black Hills Indian Bible College and will be held in the church basement.
Dr. Patricia Berkram, a former instructor at the bible college, is seminar speaker. Berkram also taught on the Standing Rock Indian Reservation and at the Teen Challenge in Sundance, Wyo. and in Asia. She has been a nurse on the Blackfeet Reservation, too.
Berkram is married to a farmer north of Cut Bank and has eight children and three grandchildren who are part Native American.
"Dr. Berkram has a wonderful testimony of how the Lord brought her out of a life of street gangs and at age 40 finds Christ as her personal savior," Pastor Roger Siewing said. "Today she holds credentials as a registered nurse, has a doctorate degree and is an ordained minister."
Siewing said the seminar is open to everyone regardless of religious affiliation.
Preregistration is required for the class. For registration forms, call 265-9730.
The Rocky Boy Assembly of God Church is located on the Laredo Road near Bonneau Dam, about 10 miles south of the U.S. Highway 87 turnoff.
