ORION CHAMBERLIN
COEUR D'ALENE, Idaho Orion K. "OKC" Chamberlin, 65, died Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2001 at a Coeur d'Alene, Idaho medical center of cancer.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Monday at St. Pius X Catholic Church in Coeur d'Alene with Fr. Roger LaChance officiating. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery in Coeur d'Alene.
Chamberlin was born Jan. 30, 1935 in Newton, Kan. to Cecil O. and Eva Merle (Wendling) Chamberlin. He was raised in Halstead, Kan. and moved with his family to the Los Angeles, Calif., area during his teen-age years. He graduated from Inglewood High School in 1954.
In 1957, Chamberlin married Betty Rounsville. They moved to Spokane, Wash. in 1965. They later divorced and he married Carleen McCarty.
Chamberlin worked for the Great Northern and Burlington Northern railroads for 32 years. In 1987, he transferred to Havre and worked there until his retirement in 1997.
Chamberlin enjoyed fishing, hiking, camping, barbecues, and playing cards and board games with his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Mary Mease.
Survivors include his wife of 25 years, Carleen Chamberlin of Coeur d'Alene; sons, Robert Chamberlin of Teague, Texas and David Chamberlin of Newman Lake, Wash.; daughters, Diane Brown of Mead, Wash. and Teresa Chapman of Hagerman, Idaho; brother, Dean Chamberlin of Crestline, Calif.; 13 grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
