JAVAE BARTON
CHINOOK Javae E. Barton, 68, died Thursday, Jan. 4, 2001 at a Havre hospital due to natural causes.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday in the American Lutheran Church with burial to follow at Kuper Memorial Cemetery at Chinook.
Barton was born Sept. 21, 1932 in Chinook to Earl and Ina (Hobbs) Strain. She attended Chinook schools and graduated from Chinook High School in 1950.
She married Robert Barton on June 9, 1957 in Chinook. She worked for the Dime Store and Coast to Coast stores in Chinook for a number of years.
Barton was a member of the American Lutheran Church and the local TOPS group.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one nephew, Dale Waldrip.
Survivors include her husband, Robert Barton of Chinook; daughters, Laurie Seymour of Foreman, Ark. and Lynda Schilling of Chinook; son, Tom Barton of Los Angeles, Calif.; John Flynn of Midway, Utah, whom she raised as a son; sister, Janice Waldrip of Law Vegas, Nev.; aunts, Lois Coyner of Washington, Dale Mundy of Idaho, Delores Maetche of Chinook; 10 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and three nephews, one nieces and numerous cousins.
Memorials may be sent to the Northern Montana Hospital Dialysis Unit in Havre.
Arrangements are by Edwards Funeral Home of Chinook.
