CORA L. MUSGROVE

CHINOOK Cora L. Musgrove, 84, died Sunday, Jan. 14, 2001 at her daughter's home of cancer.

Rosary will be held Thursday at 7 p.m. with the Funeral Mass Friday at 11 a.m., both held at St. Gabriel's Catholic Church in Chinook.

Musgrove was born in Maple Creek, Saskatchewan, Canada to Arthur and Rose Wilcox on Sept. 25, 1916. She lived in the Bear Paw Mountains and she attended school in Lloyd and Chinook, graduating from Chinook High School in 1934.

Musgrove married Robert M. Musgrove on Oct. 26, 1935 in Stanley, N.D. They farmed east of Zurich for many years until Bob passed away on March 20, 1990.

Musgrove played the piano with the Culbertson Orchestra, providing music for dances throughout Blaine County. She was elected Blaine County Clerk and Recorder in 1962 and served for 12 years. She was Clerk of School District #17 in Zurich for 32 years until her retirement in 1994. She served as secretary to the Hi-Line Wool Pool and to the Milk River Sheep Association.

She was a member of the St. Gabriel's Catholic parish in Chinook. She enjoyed time with her family, especially her granddaughters and great-grandchildren.

Musgrove was preceded in death by her husband, Bob; brothers, Arthur and Ellsworth Wilcox; sisters Minerva Nace and Eunice Cramer.

Survivors include her daughter, Duan Drugge of Chinook; sisters, Betty Matoon of Great Falls, and Avis Jamieson of Chinook; sister-in-law, Mabel Lux of Billings; three granddaughters; and three great-grandchildren.

Memorials suggested to Bear Paw Hospice and St. Gabriel's.
