Artistic expression reigns supreme at the Heritage Center Art Gallery through the month of February in recognition of teen talent.
Paintings, sculpture, pencil sketches, and computer generated art all combine into one show that gives visitors a taste of what Havre's future Rembrandt's and Picasso's have to offer.
The show was originally organized through the efforts of VISTA volunteer, Avis Chenoweth, and the Teen Week Committee who elicited the assistance of Havre High School art teacher, Stacey Freier.
Freier put out the call to her students who donated more than 20 pieces of original work to the exhibit.
Chenoweth said she wanted Teen Week to be all inclusive and felt that Havre's teen artists deserved to get some exposure.
Jamie Crawford, of the senior advanced placement class, contributed several of her works in chipped glass. Composed of various colors, the glass has been used to ornament a mirror and small table into decorative furniture with a unique twist. Another plaque-like collage of color and texture.
Mary Ward, a sophomore at Havre High School, created an expressionistic painting of a face that highlights in lavender and purple an expression that only a mother could love.
Other works include a painting of Havre High School Blue Pony clothing and another expressionistic painting of human figures in rich, bright, orange.
There is no charge to view the Heritage Center Art Gallery.
