SEVERT DALLUM

BELLINGHAM, Wash. Severt Theodore (Sid) Dallum, 97, died

Monday, Feb. 19, 2001 at a Bellingham, Wash. hospital of

natural causes.

Services will be 2 p.m. Monday at the Pondera Valley

Lutheran Church in Conrad with final interment at Hillside

Cemetery in Conrad.

Dallum was born June 12, 1903 in Oslo, Minn. to John Joseph

Dallum and Betsy Louise Odegaard. He married Lillian Irene

Rustad of Hawley, Minn. on Sept. 26, 1926.

Dallum had a long meat-cutting career that began with F.A.

Buttrey, Co. in Havre. He continued his career in Malta,

Harlem, Chinook, and Conrad. In Chinook, he established and

operated the Silver State Meatpacking Co. for several years

before settling in Conrad.

Dallum was a member of the Pondera Lutheran Church and the

Masonic Lodge in Conrad.

He was an avid sports fisherman and hunter throughout his

life.

Dallum and his wife retired to Bellingham in 1995 and

resided at the Rosewood Villa, the Sehome Convalescent

Center and then the Shuksan Care Center until his death.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 72 years, Lillian

Dallum; daughter, Anna Mae O'Brien of Conrad; two

grandchildren.

Survivors include his daughters, Betty Hay of Harlem,

Harriet Hatch of Bellingham, Wash., Lila Dean of Conrad,

Sharon Woodin of Santa Ana, Calif.; 15 grandchildren;

numerous great- and great-great-grandchildren; and several

nieces, nephews and friends.
