MARJORIE MACKENZIE
WHITEFISH Marjorie June Mackenzie, 84, died Tuesday, Feb.
20, 2001 at a Whitefish hospital of natural causes.
Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Austin
Funeral Home in Whitefish. Funeral services will be 11 a.m.
Friday at the Holy Nativity Church in Whitefish with the
Rev. Gordon Temple officiating. Burial is to follow at the
Glacier Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Kalispell.
Mackenzie was born April 18, 1916 in Worthington, Minn. to
Hjalmer and Anna Tellander. She was raised and attended
schools in Worthington and graduated from high school there
in 1934. She then attended the University of Minnesota for
two years.
While at college, she met and married Duncan Stewart
Mackenzie on Oct. 12, 1938 in Worthington. They moved to
Havre in 1946 after his military service and lived here
until 1980. The couple moved to Whitefish in 1981.
Mackenzie was active in the Episcopal Church and the
community. She enjoyed crafts, cooking, gardening and
decorating.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother,
Charles.
Survivors include her husband, Duncan Mackenzie of
Whitefish; sons, Jim Mackenzie of Whitefish and Stewart
Mackenzie of Chinook; daughter, Janet Klepper of Missoula;
10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
