Skylight Hjorth named Frontier player of week

Havre native Peterson wins mens honor

Abby Hjorth, a 5-foot-10 senior on the Montana State

University-Northern women's basketball team, earned Frontier

Conference player of the week honors last week.

Hjorth, a forward from Mapleton, Utah, averaged 16.5 points

a game during two wins over Western Montana College (81-69)

and Montana Tech (89-70).

Hjorth also had six rebounds, five steals and two assists

last week. She made 13 of 19 attempts (68 percent) from the

floor.

She is a health promotions major.

The men's player of the week also had a distinct local

flavor.

Carroll College's Eric Peterson, a 6-foot-6 center from

Havre, averaged 19 points a game to lead the Fighting Saints

to two victories last week.

Peterson was 17-for-24 (71 percent) from the field and

averaged five rebounds a game for Carroll, which handed

Westminster its first conference loss of the season last

week.
