Ag business helps Kremlin producers

By Crystal Thompson

The AgWise fertilizer plant in Kremlin was formed in 1982 by eight local farmers and a researcher in search of a more progressive and accessible plant for the Hi-Line area.

AgWise's main duty is supplying and delivering liquid and dry Anhydrous Ammonia to farmers in the area. AgWise serves farmers from Chester to Turner and everywhere in between.

Steve Preeshl who works at the plant in Kremlin, said that AgWise is beginning to run year-round. He said that recently they have been doing a lot of work in the winter, in addition to their typical working seasons. AgWise currently employs five full-time workers, as well as three or four part time workers during peak business.

As farming continues to be the Hi-Line's number one industry, AgWise continues to be a successful and profitable business. For nearly twenty years, AgWise has provided local farmers with a progressive way to fertilize their crops.
