CATHERINE MANGOLD

Catherine M. Mangold, 78, died Friday, March 3, 2001 at a Havre care center of natural causes.

A memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Holland and Bonine Funeral Chapel with Father Robert D. Grosch officiating.

Mangold was born Aug. 15, 1922 in Goldstone to John A. and Angeline C. (Godiliep) Lipp. She graduated from Hingham High School in 1941.

On Oct. 28, 1942, she married Andrew Mangold in Hingham. They made their home and raised their children in Hingham.

Mangold cooked at the Hingham School and worked at Sandvig Brothers in Rudyard.

Her husband died in 1990 and she moved to Havre.

Mangold's hobbies included sewing, baking and crocheting. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and raising indoor plants, including African violets.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Andrew.

Survivors include her daughter, Maureen Wood of Dillon; son, William J. Mangold of Havre; sisters, Elizabeth Crites of Anaheim, Calif., Anna Lipp of Havre and Christine Bohl of Fort Benton; sister-in-law, Molly Mangold of Billings; brother-in-law, Charles Cross of Rudyard; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
