The Montana House of Representatives Transportation Committee has scheduled a hearing on Sen. Sam Kitzenberg's SB 3 for Monday, March 26, at 3 p.m. in room 472 of the Capitol.
Kitzenberg's bill, also known as the four-lane highway bill, would allow for the creation of a four-lane highway from the North Dakota border to the Idaho border following the route of U.S. Highway 2.
Kitzenberg, a Republican from Glasgow, has called the bill "the most important piece of economic development legislation to affect the Hi-Line this session."
The bill contains no state funding and will not take money from other highway projects around the state and no current Highway 2 improvement projects are to be impacted by the bill, Kitzenberg has said.
Anyone interested in attending the hearing or giving testimony is encouraged to make arrangements to attend the hearing.
Kitzenberg can be contacted through the Montana State Government Web site at www.state.mt.us/index or by calling 406-444-4800.
