KAREN WILSON

CHINOOK Karen Lin Wilson, 36, died Thursday, April 5, 2001 at a Great Falls hospital from respiratory complications due to a long struggle with diabetes.

Funeral and graveside services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Edwards Funeral Home and Kuper Memorial Cemetery in Chinook. A reception will follow at the Assembly of God Church.

Wilson was born Sept. 29, 1964 in Great Falls to Lyle J. and Eleanor M. Hall Wilson. She attended schools in Great Falls and graduated from C.M. Russell High School in 1982. She received degrees from Montana State University and Washington State University.

Upon graduation, Wilson began a career in human services and juvenile justice. She worked at the county jail and juvenile detention center in Great Falls, and finally as a case manager for Golden Triangle Mental Health. She participated in numerous workshops, particularly with topics such as human sexuality and AIDS prevention.

Wilson enjoyed going to the movies and had an extensive video library. She roller skated, danced, rode horses, played guitar and enjoyed listening to music.

She was preceded in death by her father, Lyle Wilson; brother, Chris Wilson; her grandparents.

She is survived by her mother, Eleanor Wilson of Great Falls; brothers, Jim Wilson of Great Falls and Tim Wilson of Saco; two nieces; several relatives; her dog, Brie.
