NORTH PLATTE, Neb. Arthur H. Olson, 88, North Platte, Neb., died March 31, 2001 in Mesa, Ariz. of lymphoma.
A memorial service was held at View Point Mobil Home Park in Mesa. Interment will be in Havre.
Olson was born June 20, 1912 in Havre. He was educated in Havre and graduated from Havre High School in 1930.
He worked for F.A. Buttrey in Havre and then was in the Civilian Conservation Corps. He attended electronics school in California and then moved to Cheyenne, Wyo., where he worked for United Airlines. In 1942, he started his 30-year career with the Union Pacific Railroad where he retired as an electrical supervisor in North Platte.
Olson enjoyed square dancing and taught it for many years. He enjoyed fishing, boating and family.
Survivors include his wife, Isabelle Hollie Olson of Camarillo, Calif.; daughters, Evonne Peterson of Oxnard, Calif. and Brenda Stutheit of Worland, Wyo.; brothers, Vern H. Olson and Roy A. Olson of Havre; sisters, Thelma Petrie of Everett, Wash. and Vivian John of Sylmar, Calif.; five grandchildren; four great-granddaughters.
